Going abroad as a teenager during school time - a very special experience!
The student goes to a state or private school abroad for a few months and lives with a family living there. However, specialized private schools and boarding schools are also on offer.
Typically, the stay abroad lasts one school year or one school semester. However, shorter stays are also possible in some countries.
Attending a high school or other secondary school abroad is only possible for young people. For everyone up to 18, it is therefore a matter of taking a unique opportunity or never getting this chance again later.
Programs abroad make sense and are becoming increasingly important.
First and foremost is learning and improving the foreign language: Where it is spoken by people anyway, it is easy to learn "playfully"!
Travelling also opens up horizons. Longer trips abroad in particular allow countless experiences and deep insights into the culture and life of the people.
Stays abroad can "inspire" one's own life; they help with education, training and further education and look good on the CV. New friendships are formed, which sometimes last a lifetime.
